Abortion

Many who defend the pro-abortion standpoint state that abortion is necessary in the cases of rape, incest, and/or the life of the mother being endangered. Yet, less than 1% of abortions are for these reasons. 99+% are for convenience. INCONVENIENCE!

Pro choice advocates say that it is a woman's right to choose... What about the babies rights?!

A mother's womb should be the safest place on earth, but since the passing of the abortion act in 1968 six million embryos have been aborted in the UK. There have been arguments about when an embryo becomes a person. Thanks to advances in genetic, we now know that it is at conception:

"The task force finds that the new recombinant DNA technologies indisputably prove that the unborn child is a whole human being from the moment of fertilisation, that all abortions terminate the life of a human being, and that the unborn child is a separate human patient under the care of modern medicine." "The task force cited scientific advances since 1973 as showing an embryo to be a 'whole, separate, unique, living human being' from the moment of conception. The advances in question included DNA fingerprinting, which shows a pattern of DNA that can identify an individual, and the polymerase chain reaction, which makes it possible to amplify and extract that information from a single cell... The task force also cited findings that control of growth and development are established by the embryo's DNA after the third division of the fertilised egg: this stage is reached long before the embryo is implanted in the womb, which has previously been cited as when parenthood began."
"Several large studies suggest that women are more likely to suffer from depression, bipolar disorder, and suicidal thoughts following an abortion and are more likely to abuse drugs." New Scientist, 18th March 2006

There is currently a petition calling on the British Medical Association at its 2007 annual meeting to reject the recommendations of its Medical Ethics Committee, which is calling for ABORTION ON DEMAND in the first trimester, and to conduct a properly evidence-based review that involves full consultation with its members and all frontline doctors. You can view and sign the petition at www.bmapetition.org.uk. Note: it is only open to uk residents
