Muhammad a false prophet?
Mohammed's real name is Abdul Cassim and he was born about 570ad in Mecca. His father died before his birth and his mother Amina died when he was only six years old. When Muhammad was 25 he married Khadija, a wealthy widow, 15 years older than he. It was after this time that he began to meditate in solitude in the caves of Mount Hira. In 610ad when he was 40 he told his wife that he feared he was possessed by demons. Khadija persuaded Mohammed that he wasn't possessed but had received visitations from angels.
Muhammed continued to receive 'revelations' which he then claimed were directly from God. Sometimes he would foam at the mouth, writhe in agony and lose consciousness. In 613ad Muhammad began to preach his 'revelations' to the Meccans without much success. To make Islam more appetising to the meccans he tried to incorporate the three most popular meccan deities of the time (the three daughters of the moon god) into his religion (This is known as the "satanic verses"). The meccans were not convinced.
Mohammad hoping to be accepted as a prophet by the jews and christians told his followers to observe the jewish sabbath and pray toward Jerusalem. Later, when it was clear that they rejected his prophethood, he dropped the jewish sabbath and told his followers to pray toward Mecca.
In 622ad a council of elders in Mecca were going to try him for being a traitor, at this point Muhammad fled to Medina, where he was welcomed and gained many followers. It was after this time that he began to gain power in Medina and had all his critics assassinated. The following years are filled with the persecution of the local tribes and jews, any who wouldn't submit to Islam were killed and the women raped and sold into slavery. Mohammad engaged in 47 battles, ambushes and raids in his lifetime.
In 630ad Mecca surrendered to Mohammad. In 632ad Mohammad died and was buried in the courtyard of Medina mosque, Saudi Arabia. His bones are there to this day. Islam teaches that Muhammad was the last prophet, sent to purify 'the faith' from error.
When you compare the life/message/ministry of Jesus with that of Muhammed there is a big difference. Jesus didn't force his message on anyone, He gave them a choice.
| Jesus / bible | Mohammad / qur'an |
|---|---|
| Love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you (Matthew 5:44) | |
| Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him. (Al-Bukhari vol. 4,55) | |
Jesus said you can tell a false prophet by the fruit they produce:
Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves (Mat 7:15)
A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce good fruit (Mat 7:18)
Mohammad was a mass murderer, a robber, he had thirteen wives, one of which was Aisha, a 6 year old girl with whom he consummated the marriage when she was 9 years old! ! He raped women! Sounds like bad fruit to me
Jesus never sinned and claimed to be the Son of God, then well over 500 years later, Muhammad did all these things and claimed Jesus is not the Son of God, who do you believe?
Islam teaches that Jesus was a prophet but not the Son of God. Would a prophet of God dare to say this and many other things about Himself if it wasn't true;
I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me(Luke 14:6)
