Thousands or billions?
New observations have found that Saturn's rings are decomposing so fast that they can only be thousands of
years old, not millions!
Studies have shown that the earth's magnetic field is decaying too fast to be more than 10,000 years old.
There are many comets flying through our solar system. Comets are huge chunks of ice, which grow a tail as the
head disintegrates. Eventually all comets will disintegrate to a point where they do not exist. It is
thought that comets can survive no more than 10,000 years.
The moon is leaving the earth about 4 cm per year. Even if the moon had started receding from being
in contact with the earth it would've reached its present position in 1.37 billion years.
Not compatible with an old-earth scenario.
The sun burns up almost 5,000,000 tons of it's mass per second! If it were billions of years old, it must have been so
much larger than it is now that it would have burnt the earth to a crisp. This is evidence that the sun is young.
Scientists say that the universe is 13.7 billion years old. Using the distance of stars far far away and
applying the speed of light as a constant, they can measure how long it would take for light to travel here. At
first this appears to be a problem to us who hold that the bible says the earth is approximately 6,000 years
old, but has the speed of light always been constant?
